Brand Name Computers often require a special procedure for reinstalling the Windows Operating System called a "System Recovery".
Many brand Name computers do not come with the Windows Operating System Recovery Disks. The Windows Operating System Recovery is located on a hidden partition on the Hard Disk Drive.
The procedure for accessing this hidden partition is different for each manufacturer and sometimes different for each model. An inexperienced technician can often reinstall Windows from a Retail or OEM Windows Disk and accidentally delete this Recovery Partition. You will then need to purchase the Recovery Media from the manufacturer to restore your computer to its factory default state.
